What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recovery Coach - Level 2 position at Alliance for Community Transformations?
This position is Temporary, expected to last 6 months.
This position is only open to Drug Court Participants at least Phase 2.
This position is for the purpose of gaining work experience.
The primary role will be to provide emotional and social support to others in Drug Court. This Recovery Coach Peer will lead by example and be a cheerleader with a focus on solutions rather than problems. This Recovery Coach Peer will have opportunity to co-facilitate Recovery Support groups and will provide support at Sober social events in and around Mariposa, including North County (Greeley Hill, Coulterville, Don Pedro, and Hornitos).

This position will be expected to work Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 8am-3pm.
Essential Duties
· Support others in sober event planning and activities.
· Provide emotional and social support to others in Drug Court treatment and recovery.
· Ask good questions that help folks consider ways to move forward in recovery.
· Be a cheerleader and help participants focus on strengths.
· Use your experience and recovery voice to create awareness, encourage partnerships, and participation.
· Help create a welcoming environment at Heritage house and the Coulterville office.
· Work to encourage change thinking and develop discrepancy.
Additional Responsibilities
· Attend regularly scheduled Recovery Coaching meetings.
· Keep records (tally or ticket sales) of participation numbers.
· Document planning activities on service log.
· Utilize supervision for support.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Requirements:
· Must be an active participant in the Drug Court Program of Mariposa (Superior Court of California, County of Mariposa)
Education/Experience:
· High School Diploma/GED; college preferred.
Knowledge of:
· Office Equipment Operation, including computers, phone, fax, copier, etc.
· Trauma-Informed Care
· Current social, economic and health problems and of human behavior and social functioning.
Ability to:
· Be accurate, reliable, punctual, well organized, careful and thorough.
· Communicate effectively orally, electronically and written.
· Work effectively with limited supervision and foster a team atmosphere.
· Prioritize work and exercise good judgment, schedule and manage workload.
· Demonstrate comfort and expertise in operating computers and other technology.
· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, co-workers and the general public.
· Analyzing facts and exercising sound judgment in arriving at conclusions.
· Prepare concise reports.
Physical Requirements:
· Facility to see read and distinguish printed and handwritten documents.
· Facility to hear and understand speech at normal room levels, and to hear and understand speech on the telephone.
· Facility to constantly use hands and arms to input data into computer and use adding machine.
· Ability to move boxes of files from one location to another; physical agility to lift and carry up to 20 pounds, and to bend, stoop, walk and reach overhead.
· Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
· Must be able to concentrate for long periods of time.
· Mental acuity to perform the essential functions of this position in an accurate, neat, timely fashion: to make good judgments and decisions; and to evaluate the results of decisions and judgments.
Other
· Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and DMV clearance.
· Must have and maintain current auto insurance.
· Can be depended upon to report consistently to work at scheduled time and is seldom absent from work.
· Notifies supervisor with appropriate notice when absent.
· Employee can be depended upon to complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner and is conscientious about assignments.
· Follows instructions, responds to management direction, takes responsibility for own actions, keeps commitments.
