What are the responsibilities and job description for the Civil Engineering – Designer / CAD Drafter position at Alliance Group Technologies Inc?
We are working with a growing engineering and construction services business in the Transportation and Utility markets of the Midwest. We are looking for a Designer / CAD Drafter that can grow into their Design Lead role within the next year or 2. We are looking for candidates located in the western suburbs of Chicago.
Ideal candidate will have experience in :
- AutoCAD / Microstation with a focus on civil engineering design.
- Experience should include transportation, site layout, grading and utility design projects. Civil 3D experience preferred.
- IDOT, INDOT, Tollway experience
- Transportation design and experience with MicroStation
- Creating and revising production drawings
- Preparing design / construction drawings from sketches / mark-ups
- Updating drafting and engineering standards
- Utilizing knowledge of various engineering practices, mathematics, building materials and other physical sciences to complete drawings
- Construction / field experience a plus
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD - Civil 3d Preferred
- MicroStation experience is a must
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel)

- Ability to be a self-starter and keep up with technology
- Willingness to learn and expand skill set
- Associate’s degree or related technical certificate
- 3-5 years of experience in the design of civil engineering projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in related engineering field a plus.
