We are currently hiring several professionals to round out a newly added team at Alliance.
Consultation Services Specialists will support clients as they transition from Personal Care Assistance (PCA) services to a new statewide self-directed service called Community First Services and Supports (CFSS).
This is a full-time position that is primarily remote. Typical schedule is Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm. There is the possibility of time spent working at our Eagan office. Initial training for the position will be in person at our Eagan office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gain a full understanding of the CFSS program in order to clearly communicate details of the program to clients, their families, and their support teams.
- Provide initial set-up and annual renewal of services including CFSS program education/orientation and support with writing and reviewing service delivery plans.
- Provide ongoing support, consultation, and skill development, including responding to questions/concerns and supporting clients with plan changes.
- Work with the Consultation Services team to provide excellent person-focused support and timely service.
- Stay current on CFSS Program changes and updates.
- Assist the Team Lead and Director with developing or carrying out new or changing policies and procedures.
- May include occasional consultation visits to client homes and/or meeting clients within the community for consult
Qualifications:
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
- Must be able to pass a MN Department of Human Services background check
- Must posses valid driver's license and auto insurance
- Must have reliable vehicle
- Must be able to pass a motor vehicle report
- Bilingual abilities preferred but not required
- Must meet any ONE of the 5 following education/experience requirements:
1. Be a doctor of medicine or osteopathy in the state of MN, - OR -
2. Be a registered nurse in the state of MN, - OR-
3. Have Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields:
- Occupational Therapy
- Physical Therapy
- Psychology
- Social Work
- Speech-Language Pathology/Audiology
- Professional Recreation
- Professional Dietitian
- Sociology
- Counseling
- Special Education
- Rehabilitation Counseling
- Other Human Services field
- -OR-
4. Have a minimum of one year of experience working directly with people who have an intellectual disability or other developmental disability, AND have an Associate’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields:
- Human behavior (ie. psychology, sociology, speech communication, gerontology)
- Human skill development (ie. education, counseling, human development)
- Humans and their cultural behavior (ie. anthropology)
- The human condition (ie. literature, art)
- Any other study of services related to basic human care needs (ie. rehabilitation counseling)

5. Have experience that meets at least one of the following:
- One year of full-time experience providing direct services to people with disabilities or people older than age 65, or
- Experience coordinating or directing services for people with disabilities or people older than age 65, including self-directed services, or
- Experience coordinating your own services
Additional Must-Have Skills:
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously while still placing value and importance on teamwork and coordination of services and information
- Strong decision-making, problem solving, and reasoning skills
- Strong professional writing skills. Clinical and/or person-centered planning/writing skills preferred
- Mathematical skills, particularly with a focus on budget management a plus
- Proficiency with Excel, including formulas preferred
