We are looking for a Data Architect who will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the data architecture strategy across all of our orthopedic clinics. This includes managing and optimizing data systems, ensuring data governance and security, and developing data models that enable robust reporting and analytics. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in healthcare data management, strong technical expertise in database design and architecture, and the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
Data Architecture Design:
- Design and implement robust data architectures to support a variety of healthcare applications, including electronic health records (EHR), patient management systems, billing, and analytics platforms.
- Create logical and physical data models and work closely with IT and business teams to align database structures with organizational needs.
- Ensure the scalability, performance, and security of the data architecture to meet growing demands across multiple orthopedic clinics.
Data Integration:
- Oversee the integration of data from various sources, including clinical systems, EHRs, external databases, and cloud-based platforms.
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure accurate and timely data exchange between clinics and corporate systems.
Data Governance & Security:
- Establish and maintain data governance policies to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance with healthcare regulations (such as HIPAA).
- Implement and enforce data security measures to safeguard sensitive patient information, ensuring compliance with healthcare data protection standards.
- Monitor and audit data systems for compliance, performance, and security issues.
Analytics & Reporting:
- Work with data analysts and other stakeholders to design and optimize data structures for advanced analytics and reporting needs.
- Ensure the availability of clean, accurate data for clinical, operational, and financial reporting.
- Design systems to allow for easy querying and analysis of patient outcomes, treatment efficacy, and operational efficiency across all clinics.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Partner with clinical, operational, and technical teams to understand data requirements and provide actionable data insights.
- Work closely with IT teams to ensure proper data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans are in place.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improving data quality, accessibility, and usability.
Continuous Improvement:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in healthcare data management.
- Propose innovative data solutions and improvements to streamline operations and enhance decision-making across the organization.
- Drive efforts to standardize data practices and improve overall data quality across clinics.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, computer science, health informatics, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
- Proven work experience as a Data Analyst in the healthcare industry, preferably within a clinical or research setting.
- Strong understanding of healthcare data sets, including electronic health records (EHR), claims data, and healthcare terminology (e.g., ICD-10, CPT).
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, such as SQL, Python, Tableau, or Power BI, Looker Studio.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques, machine learning algorithms, and predictive modeling in the healthcare domain.
- Experience in cloud computing platforms
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements, including HIPAA, and experience handling and analyzing sensitive healthcare data.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex healthcare data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy, integrity, and quality assurance.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects with competing priorities.
- Knowledge of data security and privacy practices
- Proven track record in designing and implementing enterprise-level data architectures.
- (Not required, nice to have) Salesforce Trailhead certified Data Architect, Snowflake experience.
