What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surgical Technician Scrub (ASC) position at Alliance Health System?
We are looking for a long term, ambitious, certified Surgical Technician who has experience working in a hospital or surgical center environment. The ideal candidate will effectively assist the surgeon during medical procedures. To be successful in this role, the Surgical Technician must deliver exceptional service as well as prepare patients, rooms and equipment for pending surgical procedures.
The ideal candidate will possess experience or advanced expertise in a multi-specialty setting. They should also demonstrate exceptional proficiency in assisting with procedures as a collaborative member of the operating room team.
Summary of Responsibilities:
- Work closely with doctors, nurses, and patients in an operating room Ensure the operating room is clean and sterile
- Provide critical services during the surgery itself by completing various tasks within the operating room
- Monitor and continually assess operating room conditions, including patient and surgical needs
- Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality in accordance with governing HIPAA regulations
Requirements:
- Surgical Technician Certification
- Sterile Processing Certification (Preferred but not required)
- Minimum 2 year of experience in comparable job classification required
- Ability to work effectively within role independently and with other team members
- Ability to organize and complete work in a timely manner
- Ability to understand medical/surgical terminology
