Medical Records Specialist

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Bi-lingual – a plus
- EMR experience
- Computer Savvy
- Demonstrate capability for consistent and methodical work with a clear appreciation of the importance of maintaining correctness of entries
- Organized with a strong attention to detail; able to multi-task and prioritize work
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with all clients, AHS employees and community you interact with as an AHS employee.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Perform clerical opening procedures with new and reopened cases
- Pull and scan correctly and appropriately all medical record documents
- Assist in the preparation of statistical reports
- Prepare, prioritize and scan documents to Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Assist clients in completion of releases
- Maintain the confidentiality of all clients and client records as required by law
- Follow all regulations as required by funding sources as they relate to the medical record
- Abide by the policies and procedures as outlined in the Policy and Procedure Manual
- Answer incoming calls
- Schedule appointments
- Other job duties as assigned
Shift Availability:
- Full-Time – Minimum of 40 hours per week (hourly)

- Fully vaccinated for COVID-19 as required per AHS policy
