Purpose of the position:
The Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing quality cost effective nursing care within an interdisciplinary team, in a competent holistic manner for an assigned group of patients through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care to empower patients and families to achieve maximum levels of comfort and independence.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates patients for hospice eligibility per benefit coverage allowance.
- Supervises the care provided by the Home Health Aide based on the patient’s plan of care.
- Demonstrates a caring and sensitive attitude towards patients, family members and coworkers.
- Recognizes, addresses and documents changes in patient status and patient related problems. Informs supervisor of these concerns in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse licensed in the state of Mississippi.
- Minimum of one year RN experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- CPR certification.
