Quality Coordinator

Description

PURPOSE

Assist with the administration of the quality program as directed.  Mainly responsible for the quality documentation for processes and ensuring documentation processes are followed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develops and maintains Process Data Sheets (PDS) / work instructions, through observation and documentation of process steps.
• Performs in-process, final and dock audit inspections as required.
• Performs internal system audits in support of quality and manufacturing process compliance and provides support for changes.
• Maintains Quality database program ISOX by entering procedures, information and documents received from others.
• Support calibration system and maintenance of the test equipment.
• Continuous improvement advocate, supporting lean manufacturing initiatives by participating in events, implementing change and gains being sustained.  
• Ability to input data into software such as Excel, verify accuracy of the data and prepare charts, graphs, lists, etc., as needed for presentation by others.
• Regular attendance at work.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience                                                  

High school completion.  Prefer some post-high school education and experience in a manufacturing environment.  Familiar with all Microsoft programs with above average skills in Excel, and familiarity with ERP software.  Experience with continuous improvement and quality tools is a plus.  Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Language Skills                                                              

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills                                                      

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability                                                          

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
