Nelson Pope Voorhis (NPV) is seeking qualified Environmental Analysts to work in the Phase I / II Assessments & Remediation Division in our Melville, New York office for an immediate start. NPV is an environmental planning firm with offices in Melville and the lower Hudson Valley providing a wide range of professional consulting services.

Responsibilities / Top Skills / Qualifications :
- Conduct fieldwork under the supervision of an environmental professional who meets ASTM standards, including site inspections to identify Recognized Environmental Conditions (RECs) for the preparation of ESAs.
- Assist with soil and groundwater sampling and soil classification borings.
- Operate ground penetrating radar (GPR) and other testing equipment.
- Prepare sections of Phase I and II ESA reports, ensuring compliance with ASTM standards.
- Work on a drill rig for soil and groundwater sample collection and complete structural and soil classification borings.
- 5 or more years of experience performing Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments.
- Knowledge of ASTM Standards and the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS).
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, with annual 8-hour refresher course, as applicable.
- 10- or 30-hour construction safety certification.
- Proficiency with sample collection equipment, GPR, and GPS equipment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in AutoCad or GIS is beneficial.
