Alliance One Specialty Products, LLC., has an opening for a Material Handler in Logistics - 2nd Shift.
Job Content and Duties:
Operates a gas or electric lift to move, unload, or load product to company and customer specifications
Operates a truck on the company premises if assigned
Scans packages using wireless scanners into material tracking systems
Transports tobacco to proper destination based upon assigned role and daily schedule
Moves product to be stored, weighed and/or staged
Loads, unloads, and stacks boxes according to department work and safety procedures
Is responsible for safety of others and self, following all safe driving protocols
Performs these tasks associated with quality and movement of the Cut Rag product:
Conducts housekeeping to assigned standard (Clean work area)
Performs daily checks of assigned equipment to assure safe, efficient operation. Leaves equipment in proper operating condition for ensuing shift.
Performs other duties as assigned by departmental supervisors or their designee
Job Competencies:
Provides leadership and ensure compliance with company rules and regulations
Displays motivation to ensure product quality and efficiency meets and/or exceeds company standards
Must be dependable and able to work under minimal supervision to Logistics Department standards.
Experience Required:
Good overall understanding of the objectives of the department
Must have effective and timely communication skills
Must be possess strong reading, writing, and math skills
Must have a valid forklift license (Must be able to operate a straight fork and clamp lift)
Must possess and demonstrate problem solving skills
Must be able to climb and work at elevated heights and climb in and out of vehicles as required by job
Must follow instructions from those providing direction
Training Required:
On the job training from higher level classifications or Supervisor
Operate scanning equipment accurately and consistently
Use of computer based information systems to find data necessary to make decisions
Certification and demonstrated safe motor lift operations
Training will cover both box clamp and straight fork
*This position may be crossed trained with process control clerk duties to build depth of talent in department.**
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.20 per hour
