As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Commercial Construction Accountant to join our team.
Job Summary:
The Commercial Construction Accountant will manage financial operations for construction projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and overseeing financial aspects of project budgets, cost analysis, and accounting procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting and financial management, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for ensuring the financial success of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of project accounting, including budgets, forecasting, and cost tracking.
- Prepare financial reports, including job cost reports, general ledgers, and profit/loss statements.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project-specific accounting requirements.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Work closely with project managers and executive team to develop cost estimates, budgets, and financial projections.
- Review and process subcontractor invoices and change orders.
- Assist with preparing tax returns and audits related to construction projects.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
- Manage jurstiction licenses to ensure they are alway upto date and active.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction accounting or a related field.
- Strong understanding of construction industry financial practices, including project budgeting and cost control.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Procore).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of the construction management process.
- Familiarity with labor cost tracking, materials management, and job costing.
