Description
The Crane Operator is responsible for rigging parts and pieces of material and delivering them from area to area in a safe and efficient manner. This position plays an important role in the layout and setup of material flow through the weld shop.
Requirements
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Perform equipment safety inspections visually and operationally and report any deficiencies to maintenance and/or management.
· Rig parts and move product through the weld shop in a safe and efficient manner.
· Work with leads and supervisors to safely coordinate efficient product flow through weld shop.
· Wear all assigned personal protective equipment and help other employees work safely to achieve shop goals and improve processes.
· Assist maintenance technicians with any known deficiencies found on inspections and/or during normal operations.
· Any other duties assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Previous experience working as a crane operator in a manufacturing environment
· Reading blueprints
· Fitting and welding experience preferred
Education and Experience:
· Crane experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, squat, kneel, sit, and/or stand for extended periods of time
