What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hazmat Tanker Driver position at ALLIANCE TANK LINES?
Tanker Driver- Jet Fuel and Avgas
Duties:
- Safely operate tanker trucks to transport various types of materials, including but not limited to fuel, chemicals, and liquids.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure the secure transportation of hazardous materials.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tanker truck to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Load and unload materials from the tanker truck using appropriate equipment and procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents or accidents that occur during transportation.
- Adhere to delivery schedules and routes provided by dispatch.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members regarding delivery status and any issues that may arise.
Qualifications:
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating a tanker truck.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a commercial driver, preferably with experience in tanker truck operations.
- Clean driving record with no major violations or accidents in the past 3 years.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety procedures for transporting hazardous materials.
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
Note: Experience with dump trucks, delivery trucks, refrigerated trailers, roll-off trucks, heavy equipment operation, automotive repair, route driving, or flatbed trucks is a plus.
