Key Responsibilities
- Metals Analysis:
- Perform metals testing using ICP-AES, ICP-MS, and CVAAS, following EPA methods 200.8, 200.7, 6010, and 6020.
- Ensure all results meet TNI accreditation standards.
- Instrument Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Calibrate, optimize, and maintain laboratory instruments for maximum efficiency.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Interpret analytical data with precision.
- Prepare clear, detailed reports for clients, regulatory bodies, and internal teams.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Implement QA/QC protocols to ensure compliance with TNI accreditation standards and EPA regulations.
- Perform method validation and verification as needed.
- Team Leadership:
- Train and mentor junior analysts, fostering skill development and adherence to best practices.
- Collaborate with staff and management to achieve production goals.
- Method Development:
- Refine and optimize metals analysis methods to enhance laboratory efficiency and reliability.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- A minimum of 24 chemistry credit hours required.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in metals analysis (1 year with a Master’s degree).
- Proficiency with ICP, ICP-MS, and CVAAS instrumentation.
Technical Knowledge:
- Familiarity with EPA methods for metals analysis.
- Strong understanding of TNI accreditation standards.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
