Alliance Transportation Group (ATG) delivers a full range of engineering, planning, and consulting services to address current and future transportation challenges.
Do you have a passion for transportation?
Do you want to be a part of a team that truly enjoys designing solutions that are MAKING LIVES BETTER?
ATG is currently seeking a Travel Demand Modeler. This position will be a key hire to help grow our practice.
The selected candidate will:
- Assist with the designs of travel model architecture customized to meet transportation analysis objectives in the state or metropolitan area under study.
- Statistically analyzes household and transit onboard travel survey data in order to develop model parameters and estimate model.
- Works with and creates CUBE Voyager and TransCAD GISDK scripts.
- Performs computer programming related to travel demand modeling and traffic analysis.
- Conducting statistical analyses of travel survey and passively-collected transportation data.
- Defines variables, coefficients, and constants to estimate a model likely to replicate observed transportation system travel behavior.
- Perform GIS analysis using ArcGIS, TransCAD or QGIS
- Using iterative testing, calibrates the model coefficients to produce statistically reliable results to match target confidence and error levels based on project objectives.
- Using the calibrated model, validates the model to existing conditions to insure performance.
- Develop macros and scripts to execute individual model components, manage input-output data handling among the models and provide a user interface to organize output data into exhibits and reports to provide results in a format designed to meet analysis objectives.
- Applies the models to forecast future transportation system performance under varying conditions and project scenarios to test the feasibility and economic viability of major highway and transit infrastructure projects.
- Produces and contributes to the presentation of technical memorandum, analysis reports and formal and informal technical presentations on model development, application, results and recommendations to a variety of groups including professional peers, policy makers and elected officials, civic and business leaders and the general public.
