What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Receptionist/ Patient Registrar position at Alliance Urology Specialists?
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Busy specialty medical office. Duties include patient pre-registration, scheduling for 15 providers, and answering phones. Applicant must provide exceptional customer service to our patients. Position requires exceptional computer skills. Allscripts or Urochart experience preferred.
Must be an exceptional addition to our team and be a team player, maintain excellent organization skills, and be able to multi- task in busy environment. Work is performed in an office environment. Involves contact with patients and the public. Fast paced due to multiple duties and tasks. Contact involves dealing with people in various health conditions.
Pre-Registration
- Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone and answering or referring inquiries.
- Serves patients by pre-registration of demographic, verifying insurance and maintaining records of account.
- Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
- Communicates with patient any financial obligations such as copay, coinsurance and deductibles due at time of appointment.
- Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information. Recording and collecting patient payments.
- Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
- Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
- Maintains operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes.
- Optimizes patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
- Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient’s arrival, reviewing service delivery compared to schedule, and reminding providers of service delays.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
