About the Role:
As a Freight Forwarder – International Customer Service Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in the end-to-end coordination of global shipments. From planning efficient routes to ensuring compliance with international regulations, your efforts will directly impact our ability to deliver exceptional service to clients around the world.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage customer accounts and act as the primary point of contact for both internal and external inquiries.
- Proactively handle shipment coordination, scheduling, and documentation for air and ocean freight.
- Assign tariff classifications and determine appropriate routing by air, rail, or truck.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, including TSA/KSMS and other international standards.
- Work closely with carriers to move freight cost-effectively and on time.
- Resolve issues efficiently while maintaining a high level of professionalism and customer satisfaction.
What We’re Looking For:
- 1 years of experience in logistics, freight, or freight forwarding (preferred).
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (required).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve challenges under pressure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with freight/logistics software is a plus.
- Must have reliable transportation and the ability to commute to Itasca, IL.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- 8 or 10-hour shifts
- Overtime & occasional weekends as needed
