Maintenance Technician
Pay Rate: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour (based on experience)
Job Purpose
The Maintenance Technician supports all operational areas by performing preventative maintenance on buildings and equipment while ensuring safety, cost control, and continuous improvement. This role operates under the direction of the Maintenance Manager.
Essential Functions
- Perform routine building maintenance and preventative maintenance on company equipment.
- Diagnose and execute hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical machine repairs.
- Repair molding machine and auxiliary water lines as needed.
- Occasionally troubleshoot and repair low-voltage electrical issues.
- Conduct monthly hazardous communication audits using a mobile device.
- Audit and maintain proper water levels in forklift and scissor lift batteries weekly.
- Ensure the dumpster area remains clear of debris and properly manage waste disposal.
- Segregate waste before placing contents into recycling dumpsters or compactors.
- Identify and address potential safety hazards in the facility.
- Follow and audit the company’s waste management program.
- Safely operate cranes, hoists, lifts, forklifts, power tools, and hand tools as needed.
Education, Experience, and Skills
- High school diploma or GED preferred; or at least five years of equivalent work experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, including knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electric systems.
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, procedures, and company policies.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, carry, and pull up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.
- Willingness to work weekends and overtime as needed.
