Alliant Insurance Services ranks among the 15 largest insurance brokerage firms in the United States.SUMMARY Responsible for advising corporate departments regarding any and all legal issues as appropriate, and consults with outside counsel when needed.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Under the supervision of the Assistant General counsel, drafts, negotiates, and advises on a wide range of contracts including employment agreements, equity documents, independent contractor agreements, vendor agreements, client agreements, collaborative agreements, and confidentiality agreements;Partners with multi-functional transactional teams including corporate and business development, accounting, sales, and human resources with regard to company policy and procedure development, and legal compliance;Assists internal and external legal counsel to provide guidance on legal matters, and anticipates, mitigates, and advises regarding any potential legal problems across corporate groups, client engagements, and third party relationships;Works with external counsel and internal business teams to respond to subpoenas and litigation discovery requests;Supports merger and acquisition activity by collecting, reviewing, and preparing information for due diligence;Reviews and revises internal legal policies;Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE Juris Doctor from an accredited law school, and State Bar MembershipBachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience2-4 years’ related work experienceSKILLS Excellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to give legal guidance in a practical, business-oriented manner to non-lawyer company representatives in order to help reach solutionsAdvanced analytical, problem-solving, and time management skillsStrong interpersonal skills and ability to establish good professional relationships with internal clients, management, and legal colleaguesExcellent planning, organizational, and prioritization skills, including ability to multi-task on multiple high-priority projectsGood judgment, including good business judgmentContract review, drafting, and negotiation experience preferred, but not requiredProficient in Microsoft Office productsWe are proud to provide comprehensive, high quality employee programs to meet employees’ needs now and in the future, including a very competitive financial package.
