Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately billing and collecting medical claims to ensure proper reimbursement from insurance companies and patients. The Medical Biller will play a vital role in our healthcare facility by utilizing their expertise in medical coding, billing practices, and insurance procedures. You will be responsible for investigating denials, using your analytical and problem-solving skills to determine the best course of action for resolving aged account receivables related to medical services.
Duties
Review and verify the accuracy of billing and coding in patient medical records
· Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies following billing guidelines
· Process payments from insurance companies and patients, ensuring timely collections
· Respond to inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and appeal denials as necessary
· Maintain updated knowledge of insurance policies, regulations, and compliance requirements
· Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to address billing-related issues
· Generate and analyze reports to track billing and collections performance
· Uphold confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information securely
· Stay current with changes in medical billing and coding practices
Requirements:
· Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role
· Proficiency in medical coding (ICD-10, CPT) and billing software
· Strong understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in processing claims
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
· Certification in Medical Billing and Coding (CPC, CCS-P) is a plus
· Familiarity with medical terminology and procedures
