Job SummaryResponsible for the proactive development, implementation and management of control and monitoring systems designed to ensure a high quality of product and customer satisfaction. This position will manage the quality and warranty teams and is responsible for overall product quality and warranty at Alliant Power.Key Departmental ResponsibilitiesFormulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives.Ensure a high level of internal and external customer service. Investigate and correct customer issues and complaints relating to quality using corrective action process.Coordinate the creation, documentation and implementation of inspection criteria and procedures.Supervise workers engaged in quality inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity.Supervise workers engaged in warranty process while concentrating on process and product continual improvementWork closely with Engineering staff on a regular basis to review product returns / warranty trends and to assist in continual improvement.Interact with vendors to ensure quality of all purchased parts. Help Product Management Teams maintain supplier score cards.Work with the Engineering department to analyze product data, specifications, and production capabilities to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products (e.g. GR&R's and Master Tracking).Maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 : 2015 and assure all departments are compliant.Maintain eQMS SharePoint system used for document control, NCR / corrective action, and change management.Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams.Apply quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.Design, develop and implement quality control training programs.Develop product knowledge by working cross functionally.Operate in conformance with the requirements of the quality management system.Assist other employees in and out of the department.Provide feedback on system changes / needs.Perform other related duties and assignments as required.Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree preferred. Minimum 5-7 years related experience required. Supervisory / management experience preferred. Previous experience with ISO 9001 : 2015 desired. Must have experience with developing / documenting procedures. Must understand manufacturing workflow, including planning activities. A self-starter with initiative and proven willingness to assume ownership for areas of responsibility. Ability to make informed decisions quickly and independently. Strong inter-personal communication skills and employee relations; must have ability to train others to these skills.
