What you do:
You will be a senior team member within Investment Operations responsible for the operational and controls oversight of external Asset Managers across all asset classes and investment structures. You will perform initial and ongoing operational due diligence and risk assessments of third-party Asset Managers, monitoring that applicable reporting requirements are met, and validating the calculations of asset management and performance fees following governing legal documents in close partnership with Investment Operations. You will work with other teams within Allianz Investment Management (AIM) and those externally (asset managers and related service providers) to ensure proper oversight of Asset Managers. You will report into an AIM Principal - Investment Operations.
Associate: $66,000 - $149,000
Principal: $80,000 - $180,000
Actual base salary may vary based on factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, internal equity of peers, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual incentive program.

What you do:

- Perform initial and ongoing due diligence and risk assessments of third-party Asset Managers by reviewing their operational processes, main financial controls including cash and valuation of investments
- Prepare operational due diligence reports, summarize findings and recommendations for senior management
- Collaborate with AIM’s Investment Management and Investment Operations teams to monitor external asset managers and ensure adherence to legal agreements governing those relationships and internal policies
- Support receipt of Investment Operations reporting requirements and standard reporting packages by asset class from Asset Managers
- Review of calculations of management and performance fees charged by Asset Managers, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve operational processes and procedures to increase efficiency and reduce risk
- Build and foster relationships with Asset Managers and across AIM is critical to success
- 5 years of experience in Investment or Asset Management
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field
- Knowledge of private equity structures, waterfall calculations, performance and management fee calculations
- Proficient in Excel, with experience performing financial calculations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require immigration sponsorship for visa status now or in the future (e.g. H1-B, L-1, TN, etc). If you are currently on CPT/OPT, you are ineligible due to the need for future immigration sponsorship.
