What you do:
Responsible for the strategy and operations of Allianz Ventures focusing on business development, sourcing and execution of new investments and portfolio management. Also responsible for internal partner collaboration, relationship management with parties outside Allianz Life and thought leadership. You will consider the future of the insurance business by developing and maintaining external relationships, investing, and partnering with disruptive early-stage technology companies to deliver strong investment returns and strategic benefit to Allianz Life. You will report to the SVP - Investment Growth.
Fund Management and Strategy: Develop and execute Ventures strategy; Ventures partner management; Oversight of ventures related processes, infrastructure and resources (budget, personnel, systems etc); Management of performance and reporting, including new ASI entity related responsibilities (i.e., audit, governance, standalone financials, etc).
Business Development and Portfolio Management: Lead business development and investment functions; oversee all aspects of the process including sourcing/origination, diligence, partnership negotiations, recommendations, project plans, execution, and portfolio management through exit. Perform board responsibilities and formal/informal advisory duties to support portfolio companies. Support team's deal sourcing objectives by generating high-quality deal flow and facilitating value add strategic connections into the business.
Relationship Management and Thought Leadership: Continue to build and maintain external relationships within the venture capital and financial services/insurance communities to support sourcing of high-quality deal flow, program reputation, business development opportunities and lead thought leadership. Represent Allianz Ventures in the market at multiple industry events and participate in speaking events/panels and other thought leadership events, etc.. Stay up to date on market landscape and emerging trends and share insights back to Allianz through a variety of value add programming, events and communications.
Leadership: Build and lead an engaged team. Coach and develop team members, partnering with employees to create development plans and conduct regular career coaching conversations ensuring appropriate skill and knowledge level. Solicit employee feedback and build/implement employee engagement action plans.
Other: Manage the relationship with and engagement in gener8tor and the OnRamp conference series to ensure Allianz best interests in accelerator program and conference. Relationship management and exploration of other investment opportunities with gener8tor (i.e., MSP Equity fund) and other partners that may provide strategic differentiated value.

Actual base salary may vary based upon factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, internal equity of peers, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual incentive program.

What you bring:
- 8 years of experience required: Relevant insurance or financial services experience; deep know-how, analysis and experience in early stage fintech investing and business development. Strong leadership and excellent verbal and written communication skills (story-telling ability with market and portfolio data).
- Four year degree required: Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics or related technical field
- Must have basic to high proficiency with AI and/or business intelligence
- You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require immigration sponsorship for visa status now or in the future (e.g. H1-B, L-1, TN, etc). If you are currently on CPT/OPT, you are ineligible due to the need for future immigration sponsorship.
