Role:
Drive the XoL operation, contributing to the achievement of profitable and sustainable growth in aligment with Allianz Trade Group strategy in the Americas Region.
This role encompasses both the Credit and Commercial elements of the underwriting process and will be steered to achieve retention and profitability targets, maintain the quality of the portfolio, and ensure customer satisfaction (NPS) are met through high levels of service. It involves:

- a focus on the long-term profitability of the line of business, ensuring technical and underwriting excellence
- Proactive management of internal and external stakeholders at senior levels
This individual will report to the Global Head of XoL and will manage and grow a team of underwriters.
Main tasks:
Overview:
- Responsible for driving profitable growth and securing continued internal support for XoL in the Americas region.
- Empowered with commercial and risk underwriting authority
New business:
- Responsible for the XoL Americas' new business budget.
- Lead the new business team in all aspects of new business development and underwriting:
- develop good relationships with brokers, agents and regional Allianz Trade and Allianz Commercial stakeholders to generate new business enquiries.
- underwrite new business enquiries using the XoL pricing model as well as market knowledge.
- assess and underwrite credit risks for prospects.
- draft policy documents, including the creation of new endorsements to fit prospects' requirements.
- Ensure compliance to market specifics and local regulations
- Coordinate with senior internal stakeholders at director level, and across regions, to obtain risk and commercial approvals.
Account Management:
Lead the Account Management team to ensure the renewal and growth of the portfolio including:

- Ensuring portfolio profitability by securing necessary risk share, pricing levels, operational feasibility and maintaining robust credit underwriting.
- Regular meetings with insured, brokers and fellow syndicate members;

Steering and reporting
- Responsible for steering budget process, including reserving in collaboration with the Americas Region and the XoL Central Team
- Prepare and present performance results to Americas and MNC Regions Leadership Teams and XoL Central Team.
- Provide regular and timely reporting on activity and performance
- Anticipate market trends, adapting existing products, or developing new ones, including digital opportunities.
Leadership
- Grow and lead a team of high potential underwriters located in different locations
- Coach and provide direction and training for team members as required.
Relationship building / Representation:
- Manage and support key relationships with customers, brokers, agents and other external and internal stakeholders to maintain existing business relationships and generate new business leads.
- Coordination with all internal functions to ensure smooth operation and continued support for the product, including Group and Regional MMCD, Credit & Claims, CFAO and HR functions as well as EH Re.
- Represent the company at events as required.
Marketing
- Presentations about XoL internal and external stakeholders
- Coordinate with Americas and MNCregional marketing and communication teams to ensure adequate representation of the product.
Projects, including New Product Development
- Maintain awareness of new market and product developments;
- Take part in projects and new product development in collaboration with the Americas and MNC Region and the XoL Team

- Ability to balance commercial interests and strict standards regarding quality of portfolio when structuring terms and conditions of complex deals
- Ability to balance the fulfillment of complex requirements from clients and prospects within a large number of countries and legal environements.
- Continuously refine and enhance existing underwriting standards
- Ensure long-term profitability and quality of customer portfolio
- Ensure the product remains relevant and evolves with market requirements

Compensation range:
$170,000-$280,000
Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary ranges are only one component of our total compensation package.
