Medical Biller

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accuracy in medical coding, and facilitating timely collections. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced medical office environment.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and patients.
• Review and verify patient information and medical records for accuracy.
• Utilize ICD-10 coding systems to ensure correct billing practices.
• Manage accounts receivable by tracking unpaid claims and following up on collections.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve billing discrepancies or issues.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) guidelines and regulations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations regarding medical billing practices.
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients regarding their billing inquiries.
• Manage and maintain patient records requests.

Qualifications

• Proficient in medical terminology and familiar with medical records management.
• 4-10 years experience in medical billing and collection processes is REQUIRED.
• Strong understanding of medical billing systems and procedures.
• Knowledge of medical coding standards.
• Previous experience working in a medical office setting is advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.
• A certification in medical billing or coding is a plus, but not required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.28 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week
