JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Director of Accounting and Finance (Senior Director) will oversee all day-to-day finance operations, including budget development and analysis, accounting for investments, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, payroll, and audit preparation. They will work closely with the CEO, CFO, executive team, and program leads.
The Senior Director will evaluate current processes and systems, partnering with the CFO and others to streamline workflows, implement new technologies, and establish standard operating procedures that serve the organization effectively. They will spot inefficiencies, reduce backlogs, and provide proactive support across departments.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Financial Management
- Manage all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue, costs and both division budgets and actual expenditures.
- Oversee budgeting, and the implementation of budgets, so as to monitor progress and present financial metrics both internally and externally.
- Collaborate with members of the leadership team in drafting, reviewing, and verifying accuracy of annual HQ budgets by department.
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs.
- Manage cash flow and forecasting for all of Allied Group.
- Support the handling of banking relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash positions.
- Coordinate all audit activities.
Change Management
- Support the CEO and senior leadership in the integration of three Allied Group legal entities into one.
- Lead the project to upgrade the accounting system to Sage Intacct.
Team Leadership
- Provide the necessary training and development for staff.
- Manage workload issues effectively to create a workplace that increases staff retention and strengthens communication within and outside the department.
CORE COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior nonprofit finance experience with a successful track record in an accounting management role is essential.
- Demonstrable experience in driving the analytic framework for planning and managing organizational change; ability to anticipate the infrastructure and systems needs in a complex, government-funded nonprofit.

FLSA STATUS: Exempt Salary $125,000 to $135,000 annually
