Description
Primary Summary of Position:
The truck driver must exercise safe driving practices to insure their safety and the safety of the general public. The driver is responsible for loading and unloading the truck according to the established standard operating procedures to prevent cross-contamination of feed products. The truck driver must follow the directions of the supervisor and always maintain accurate paper work. The driver is responsible for superior customer service as well as compliance with Department of Transportation safety rules and regulations, company policies, local, state and federal as well as OSHA and FSMA policies, laws, and regulations.
Responsibilities of the Position:
- Deliver feed from mill to production facilities and other destinations on a timely and efficient manner
- Assist with local mix schedule and prepare mixes to specifications
- Responsible for inspection of all equipment before loading
- Responsible for unloading correct feed at intended destination in proper bin/warehouse
- Complete required paperwork timely and accurately
- Follow biosecurity rules and BSE rules
- Maintain truck and equipment on a regular schedule
- Ensure sales tickets are made out prior to loading and delivery
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Assist in bagging of feed products
- Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more on a regular basis
- Ability to operate forklift and warehouse machinery
- Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time, bend, kneel, and have good leg and finger dexterity
- Must have to be able to obtain a Class B CDL License with air break endorsement. Class A preferred.
- Have a good driving record
