Deskside Technician – End User Computing
*JOB DESCRIPTION
The position of Deskside Technician – End User Computing performs troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of end user computing equipment and peripheral equipment at corporate locations.
The candidate works on assignments of a diverse scope where analysis of data and hardware requires evaluation of identifiable factors. The candidate exercises judgment with supervision within the generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions and acts as a liaison between customers, departments, and within the organization to lead problem resolution.
Essential duties for the position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Campus support. Supplier will provide Site support for end user computing devices, including but not limited to desktop computers, laptops, virtualization technologies, file and print, mobile devices, and desk/IP phones.
- Perform Level 2 deskside support for end user computing devices;
- Coordinate break/fix support of in-scope end user computing devices working with CE within required Service Levels;
- Installation, configuration, and maintenance of end user computing devices in accordance with Customer growth and equipment refresh plans;
- Decommission of end user computing technology in accordance with Customer equipment refresh plans;
- Coordination of audio, video, and telepresence support working with CE Providing meeting support for all the meetings in the customer location
- Co-ordinate with vendors, Customer and third-party providers of DB for resolution and root cause analysis.
- Perform support and administration of voice SBCs/Gateways.
- Install printers on Customer laptop, PC’s.
- Configure printers on monitoring tools.
- Perform the required IMAC.
- Stock and maintain hot swap inventory for each production site.
- Support, troubleshoot and maintain label printers in shipping, manufacturing and other areas.
- Discuss with Customer, analyze the universal printing requirements, and configure based on resource availability.
- Managing and monitoring print servers.
- Provide usage reports to Customer on request and regularly .
- Troubleshooting printer errors on the devices, , laptop, desktops PC’s.
- Operate and manage Customer data rooms and EUC environmental requirements, hardware inventory, tracking hardware movement (relocation) and facilitating new hardware installation or hardware removal.
- Coordinate with local business unit to get physical access and work with security to get entry to the premises.
- Ensure all equipment and racks in Data rooms are labeled, updated, and documented.
- Keep the server room tidy and in order, especially ensuring that the cabling at the cabling racks in the server room and LAN rooms is arranged properly and neatly.
- Data rooms supervisory services E.g. Monitor and maintain all the hardware and software systems in the data rooms, such as servers, storage devices, network devices.
- Hands and Feet Support in Datacenter.
