Senior Purchasing and Inventory Manager

SUMMARY OF POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITY: This position will be responsible for managing purchasing operations and will implement the strategy for providing materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain strategic supplier relationships to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers
  • Oversee Vendor scorecard to make sure our vendors provide on time service and quality.
  • Oversee the daily activities of the purchasing department to ensure accurate and efficient processes for sourcing, returns, credits etc
  • Manage subordinates on the purchasing team to foster a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork, and accountability. Provide guidance and support to the team members as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with established procurement strategies/practices
  • Implement systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to disruptions in the supply chain or changes in demand
  • Determine current and future inventory levels and manage inventory levels to meet demand across multiple locations
  • Implement Inventory control measures to minimize waste across multiple locations
  • Oversee auditing process to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with industry or governmental regulations

QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR TRAINING):

  • Required Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline
    • Preferred Education:
    • MBA

  • Required Experience:
    • 10 years of demonstrated experience in a purchasing leadership position
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Previous experience in the stone and/or cabinetry industry
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA):

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of procurement and supply chain management principles and practices
  • Knowledge of supplier management and contract negotiation


Skills:

  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Exceptional communication skills, verbal and written


Abilities:

  • Excellent negotiation and contract management abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position will primarily be performed in an office environment but may also involve going to a warehouse environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position may involve lifting objects weighing between 25 and 50 pounds. This position will also involve frequent sitting but may also involve standing or walking for periods of time. This position requires visits to warehouse and production sites, which may involve standing, walking, and exposure to environmental conditions.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

Travel may be required to all visit all our fabrication location, suppliers, attend meetings, and participate in training and conferences.
