The Injection Molding Lead Associate is responsible and accountable for ensuring the proper procedures are followed in the injection molding production area. This position provides the expertise in setting up the machines, following preventative maintenance schedules, following production schedules in order to deliver product to our customers and meeting our goals of safety, right first time, on time delivery at or under budget. This position will require cross-training and knowledge of the entire process to produce conforming final product.

Hours: 7a - 3:30pm
Responsibilities:
- Lead the production associates using best practices
- Continually monitor safety and required PPE
- Ensure processes are being followed and are staying in control and capable
- Manage product deliveries and quality
- Initiate cost savings projects
- Engage with associates to mentor and build their process knowledge
Key Accountabilities
Safety/Operations: Update and create procedures to improve manufacturing safety and efficiency. Develop, implement, improve and maintain processes. Perform root cause and failure analysis as required. Troubleshoot production problems. Ensure that proper preventative and predictive maintenance schedules are being followed. Responsible for initial set-up of machines and ensuring conforming first article.
Cost Reduction: Work with process engineers and the Injection Molding Supervisor to define, test and implement new production improvements.
Quality: Work with supervisor and process engineers to ensure that the defined processes are producing high quality parts. Provide feedback on opportunities to improve quality.
Personnel: Daily interface with other department personnel to facilitate communication within the manufacturing facility. Oversee the employee training system within the injection molding area and perform employee training as needed.

Expected Hours of Work and Travel
· This is a full-time position that supports 24/7 operations. A flexible schedule is required with off hour’s accessibility from time to time on an as needed basis.

Required Knowledge and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience in structured Problem Solving/Analysis.
- Able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form within all levels of the organization as well as with customers, vendors, suppliers and contractors.
Preferred Knowledge and Experience
· Experience in processing injection molded parts
· Knowledge of metallurgical analysis
· Use of Microsoft Office, infor XA, and Minitab systems.
