- Duties and Responsibilities
- Advise responsible personnel of any problems, delays from the supply chain that could affect plant operations or delivery of product to customers.
- Stock and control inventory tools and parts to support equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Identify alternative vendors or products that meet the specifications (In- Kind Replacement).
- Manage re-orders, returns to vendor, and shop supplies.
- Work closely with operations representatives to determine quality items, suppliers, and prices to purchase in support of company goals.
- Determine most cost-effective and efficient methods for ordering and shipping parts.
- Create and maintain MRO processes within and across departments to provide a reliable storeroom of critical spare parts.
- SME for MRO processes to baseline global processes.
- Promote best purchasing practices in collaboration with the plant maintenance, engineering, and operations teams with an emphasis on equipment uptime and compliance to safety, health & environmental policies, and procedures.
- Support timely, thorough, and complete work order execution and traceability through CMMS.
- Source local resources, contractors, and suppliers to resolve complex maintenance challenges.
- Maintain excellent lines of communication with Maintenance, Engineering, Production, other Allied departments, and our affiliates.
- Independently maintain technical knowledge and remain current on emerging technologies.
- Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of college or trade school or 3 years experience in manufacturing with MRO / maintenance parts management desired.
- Experience and understanding of maintaining an accurate parts inventory level and accuracy in a Maintenance Management Program.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Proven experience in ordering, planning, & inventory management with ERP systems such as SAP preferred.
- Willing to be a hands-on member of the maintenance team for the purposes of support.
- Experience in facilities maintenance, inventory control, and fabrication desired.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, Bill of Materials, and an advanced understating of cost controls with multiple plants and departments.
- Must demonstrate good communication skills, both written and oral.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CMMS systems.

- Frequent exposure to Allieds manufacturing facilities, which may include dusty, hot, or cold conditions.
- Required to follow Allied Mineral Products Safety & Health policy and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as appropriate.

Under the direction of the Manager, Reliability, the MRO Technician is responsible for inventory management as it relates to maintenance parts, janitorial, office supplies and equipment. This includes sourcing, procuring, stocking and inventory management of maintenance parts and supplies.
