PURPOSE: An effective Automated Cell Operator holds safety as a value. Demonstrates safe work practices in all they do and has no hesitation notifying anyone of an unsafe situation. Can work as a cohesive team and has the skill to identify problems and recommend improvements to provide quality, on time products to our customers. Operates automated machinery and robotic equipment. Performs set-up, changeover and troubleshooting as required. Duties may vary based on the assigned automated cell.
1.0 DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow all company safety guidelines, practices, and procedures. This includes the proper use of personal protective equipment when required.
- Consistently meet production schedule plan and attainment goals.
- Start up, maintain, changeover, and shut-down all elements of the work center. Excluding tool and die changes.
- Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) duties, as assigned. Those duties are best described as those tasks required to clean, inspect, and lubricate the equipment and work area. Refer to the work center specific work instructions for guidance. General characteristics of TPM Duties are as follows.
- Take 5 Minutes or less
- Require 2 tools or less
- Are performed daily, weekly, or monthly
- Are Identified in the OEM Manual as an Operations Requirement
- Tasks that are generally accessible
- Ability to troubleshoot automation technology, make minor adjustments, unjam/reset minor robot issues using teach pendant, and assist in root cause analysis with team.
- Perform quality checks on the finished jobs as needed.
- Determine and report product quality issues to appropriate parties.
- Load and unload products from and to pallets and totes.
- Provide on-the-job training to others in the department when needed.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Always maintain cleanliness of equipment and workstation areas.
- Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Targeted reduction in waste of all forms (time, materials, labor).
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, group leads and business unit managers.
- Creating and continually improving upon a culture of teamwork, accountability, and trust by modeling expectations and providing positive feedback to drive desired behaviors.
- Documenting and submitting performance reporting as required.
- Gaining knowledge and keeping up to date on safety and quality regulatory notices.
- Responsible for maintaining regular and reliable attendance and punctuality per company policies and procedures.
- Performing other duties, as assigned.

3.0 EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum High School Diploma, GED or one-year equivalent experience required.
- Prior experience working in a manufacturing setting preferred, especially technical or robotic experience.
- Capable of growing in knowledge and demonstrating competency in your job.
4.0 MENTAL / VISUAL REQUIREMENT:
- Ability to follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to work without close supervision.
- Ability to generate reporting documents and participate in team meetings.
- Self-motivated with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced production environment.
- Good general ability with use of computer touch screens and written documents.
- Basic math skills, ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

6.0 WORK ENVIRONMENT:
