Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration required, 5 years or more of related experience required. Prefers experience in a manufacturing facility. Work will be onsite


Purpose:

An effective Controller holds safety as a value. Demonstrates safe work practices in all they do and has no hesitation notifying anyone of an unsafe situation. The Controller is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the work of the accounting department. Performs complex accounting work in support of the company’s accounting function.


1.0 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:

1. Follow all company safety guidelines, practices, and procedures. This includes the proper use of personal protective equipment when required.

2. Responsible for the business interaction with internal customers, company bank, overseeing reconciliation with outside auditor, closing general ledger for company and affiliates, tax preparation, balance sheet, profit and loss statements and other reports as needed. Monthly and yearly reconciliation and closing.

3. Analyzes accounting department functional performance, makes recommendations, and implements change.

4. Assists CFO in coordinating the annual budget, annual machine hours rates, base payroll data for bonus computations and performs financial and system analysis.

5. Monitors and improves procedures for analysis of product standard costing.

6. Maintain standard cost.

7. Champion the accounting side of IQMS (ERP system) and the payroll side of Paycom.

8. Prepared quarterly and annual payroll tax returns and reports.

9. Prepared payroll data for 401-K.

10. Supervise accounting manager, accounts receivable, A/P and cost accountant.

11. Maintain fixed assets, logbook, machine master list, assign asset numbers and answer inquiries of asset numbers.

12. Assign, track, and monitor all capital projects and provide monthly updates.

1. Prepare quarterly and annual assets listings, and year-end reports for the outside accountants.

2. Prepare monthly reports on sales and product profitability.

3. Work closely with Human Resources on payroll issues.

4. Targeted reduction in waste of all forms (time, materials, labor).

5. Creating and continually improving upon a culture of teamwork, accountability, and trust by modeling expectations and providing positive feedback to drive desired behaviors.

6. Performing other duties, as assigned.


2.0 QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

2.10 Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.


3.0 KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration required (or related degree), five (5) years or more of related experience required. Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.


4.0 MENTAL/VISUAL REQUIREMENT:

Ability to follow a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to work without close supervision. Ability to generate reporting documents and participate in team meetings. Self-motivated with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced office environment. Basic math skills, ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to draft reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

6.0 WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the associates primary job function involves the ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time and will work in an office area and may need to travel through the production area. Safety glasses closed toed shoes, and hearing protection may be required in the area that you are walking/traveling in based on our safety PPE standards.
