Allied OMS is a doctor-owned, doctor-led, and doctor-governed management services organization (MSO) in the oral and maxillofacial surgery space that combines the best of private practice with the best of private equity.
Leveraging decades of experience building platform businesses in the healthcare industry and collectively owned by member surgeons, private equity, and management consulting veterans, Allied OMS offers essential tools for maximizing practice value.
Grounded in clinical excellence, doctors in the Allied OMS network maintain essential roles in management, governance, and clinical practice and participate directly in the platform's growth. Seventy-five percent of the Allied OMS board of directors are doctor members, and Allied OMS doctors lead 100% of the platform's management committees.
Founded in 2020 in partnership with DuneGlass Capital, a healthcare services-focused independent sponsor, the Allied OMS network now includes 75 doctors serving patients from 48 locations in Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, New York, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia.
The Role
The Regional Operations Director is a critical leadership role responsible for driving the operational and financial performance of practices within the assigned region. This individual will ensure alignment with Allied OMS's strategic goals while providing hands-on support to practices, identifying and implementing process improvements, and fostering a culture of operational excellence. This role will report directly to the VP of Operations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial & Operational Growth
- Drive EBITDA growth across practices in the region by optimizing operational efficiencies, revenue streams, and cost management
- Analyze performance metrics and implement data-driven strategies to achieve financial targets
- Benchmark individual practice performance against regional and national standards to identify improvement opportunities
Practice Support & Development
- Provide regular onsite support to practices within the region, serving as a trusted partner to surgeons, practice administrators, and staff
- Collaborate with cross-functional departments to design and implement initiatives that enhance patient satisfaction and practice productivity
- Support the training and rollout of new initiatives, systems, and processes to ensure seamless adoption across practices
- Coach and develop practice administrators; build practice bench strength
Leadership & Team Building
- Serve as a mentor and leader within the region, fostering a positive, collaborative, and results-oriented environment
- Act as a liaison between corporate leadership and practice teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment of goals
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare management, or a related field required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 8-10 years in management with experience in multi-site operations, healthcare management, or a related field, with a proven track record of driving financial and operational success
Skills & Competencies
- Strong financial acumen with experience in managing and growing EBITDA
- Demonstrated ability to analyze data, benchmark performance, and develop actionable improvement strategies
- Exceptional leadership, coaching, and communication skills
- Adept at managing change and fostering team engagement in dynamic environments
Travel Requirements
- Ability to travel regularly within the assigned region to provide onsite support and oversight. Predominantly states along the US West Coast.
Preferred Location
The ideal candidate is based in the Greater Chicago market, with proximity to regional practices for frequent onsite support.
