We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fire Protection PM to join our growing team. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and protection of our facilities and personnel by providing Building, Fire and Life Safety Code consulting, conducting fire and life safety surveys and inspections, and completing plan review of specifications and drawings. You will be expected to provide expert advice and guidance to contractors, building owners, engineers and architects to ensure that the most up to date fire prevention concepts and practices are incorporated into the design and construction of facilities.
This role requires a strong understanding of fire dynamics, building codes, and fire protection systems, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:
- Consult on the design of fire protection systems, including sprinkler systems, fire alarm systems, smoke management systems, and special hazard suppression systems.
- Perform fire hazard analyses and develop fire protection strategies for various occupancies.
- Review and interpret building codes, fire codes, and other relevant standards (e.g., NFPA, IBC, IFC).
- Prepare technical reports and specifications
- Perform field inspections and witness testing of fire protection systems.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other team members.
- Stay current with the latest fire protection technologies, codes, and standards.
- Manage projects within budget and schedule constraints.
- Conduct fire risk assessments and develop recommendations for risk mitigation.
- Investigate fire incidents and provide forensic engineering analysis (if applicable).
- In addition to project-focused technical activities, the Project Manager's responsibilities include new business development, proposal creation, project financial management, and revenue projections.
- Education: A Bachelor's (Master's preferred) in Fire Protection Engineering, or a related construction field like Engineering, Architecture, or Engineering Technology.
- Experience: 8 years in fire protection engineering/consulting, code plan review, and inspections.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of ICC and NFPA codes & standards. Fire protection engineering/design principles are a plus.
- Skills: Proven project management experience, mentoring/leadership abilities, strong negotiation skills, and excellent communication (written, graphic, and verbal).
- Licensing: A P.E. license is preferred.
- Bonus: Experience with fire modeling (FDS) and timed egress analysis is a plus.
