IT Generalist

Role Overview: We are looking for a versatile IT Generalist who is not afraid to dive into a variety of technical challenges, from scripting to data integration, and occasional troubleshooting in code. This role requires a proactive individual with a broad understanding of IT systems, a knack for problem-solving, and the ability to adapt to diverse tasks. This position is a remote hire, but local Houston, TX residents will receive priority.

Key Responsibilities:

• Scripting & Automation:
• Develop and maintain scripts in languages such as JavaScript, VBScript, or similar
• Automate routine IT processes and workflows
• SQL Proficiency:
• Write, optimize, and debug SQL queries
• Support data analysis and database-related tasks
• Spreadsheet Mastery:
• Create and troubleshoot advanced Google Sheets formulas
• Assist in data imports, exports, and transformations using spreadsheets
• Integration & Data Handling:
• Understand and manage integrations between systems, including data mapping and workflows
• Work with data formats such as JSON, XML, and CSV for imports, exports, and transformations
• Web & Front-End Basics:
• Work with HTML and CSS for minor adjustments to web pages or emails
• Collaborate with developers on small-scale web projects
• General IT Support:
• Provide technical assistance for software and hardware as needed
• Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve escalated issues
• Occasional Coding:
• Review, troubleshoot, and make small updates to codebases (e.g., Java or similar languages)
• Assist developers or teams with debugging or minor feature development
  

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in scripting languages like JavaScript or VBScript
• Comfortable writing and debugging SQL queries
• Familiarity with Google Sheets formulas and functions
• Experience with data formats such as JSON, XML, and CSV
• Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS
• Exposure to programming languages like Java (ability to troubleshoot or make small edits is a plus)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn new technologies

• Experience with integration tools (e.g., APIs, ETL platforms)
• Background in IT support or related technical roles
