We are seeking a skilled and reliable Commercial Overhead Door Technician and Installer to join our team. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining commercial doors, motor, dock equipment and related products for businesses, industrial facilities, and other commercial properties. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and committed to providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Installation and Maintenance:
- Install a variety of commercial doors, rolling steel, sectional overhead, high speed doors, loading dock equipment and some other overhead door types.
- Installing of overhead doors, motor, locks, door controls, access control systems, and weather stripping.
- Preventative maintenance on overhead doors and docks.
Repair and Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose issues with door systems and perform necessary repairs efficiently.
- Replace broken or malfunctioning components, such as springs, tracks, hinges, slats, barrels, bottom bars, seals and more.
Customer Service:
- Communicate professionally with clients to assess their needs and provide solutions.
- Educate customers on proper door usage and maintenance to extend product lifespan.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety standards and guidelines during installation and service work.
- Maintain compliance with local codes and regulations related to commercial doors.
Documentation:
- Accurately complete work orders, service reports, and other required documentation.
- Track inventory and report shortages of tools or materials.
Qualifications
Experience:
- Previous experience in commercial door installation, repair, or related fields preferred. (Please note, if you are a senior level tech, 5 years, please let us know the pay range is subject to beneficially change)
- Familiarity with various door systems, hardware, and access control components.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of lifting and carrying heavy materials ( 75 lbs).
- Comfortable working on ladders, scaffolding, and in various weather conditions.
Other Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic Hand Tools and Cordless Power tools (assistance programs are available)
- Punctual and On Time
- Reliable vehicle to get to and from our office in Nolensville.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in door installation or related fields.
- Experience with electronic troubleshooting.
- Basic welding and fabrication skills.
- Understanding of tools
