Job Description Summary

Assists in the management and oversite of the Packaging department. Schedules and assigns workloads with team members; and maintains close rapport with production, quality assurance, and maintenance in support of maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices and Operational conditions within the department. Conducts periodic site inspections within the packaging environment. Coordinates with production and quality assurance in maintaining sanitary conditions in the finished goods environment inclusive of managing finished goods warehouse and shipment activities associated with moving finished goods off site. This company requires team members to be self-directed and initiative based.

Job Description

The Packaging Supervisor provides supervision, technical assistance and support to the overall operation. As a Packaging professional, he or she is involved in all aspects of packaging and warehouse activities including but not limited to sanitation activities, training, and employee development within the department. This position is considered as a working manager.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

Position Responsibilities

• Supports an intellectual curiosity in understanding processing equipment workflows etc.
• Plans, develops, implements, validates, and manages the packaging department and is intimately involved in managing the finished goods warehouse and supporting finished goods shipments.
• Plan, organize, execute, train, and monitor plant operational crews, processes, and methods.
• Directly manage a team of Packaging Personnel (including scheduling, timekeeping, training, performance reviews, hiring, etc.
• Conducts physical inspections of equipment to evaluate effectiveness.
• Participate in audits (internal, regulatory, customer, certification, etc.) for topics related to Sanitation and Food Safety programs.
• Coordinate with senior leadership in maintaining proper inventories.
• Responsible for meeting key performance indicators as defined by Safety, Sanitation, Quality Assurance and Operational efficiency.
• Plans, executes, and reports Packaging key performance indicators as assigned performance indicators as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

• 3-5 years related experience required preferably in the food industry
• OSHA 10 training required
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to read, write and speak fluent English, preference would be Bi-lingual
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Must be able to work flexible hours and be on call for emergencies.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; taste and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee will be exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature. In compliance with applicable state and local laws, Allied Potato Processing LLC. has opted to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. This compensation is specific to this position and considers a few variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience, and expertise. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $35,000-$44,000.
