Reliability Engineer - Adams, MA
Contract Position | $50-60/hr $125 Daily Per Diem

Allied Reliability partners with premier clients to implement world-class reliability and maintenance solutions across various industries. We are currently seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer for a long-term project with one of our premier clients in the Adams, MA area.
Position Summary
Under minimal supervision, the Reliability Engineer will be responsible for implementing machinery and process improvements using management of change best practices. This role requires expertise in FMEA methodologies to support asset walks of critical equipment and determine which parts should be considered for critical spares inventory. The ideal candidate will approach this with an analytical mindset, considering factors such as wear patterns, failure rates, and lead times.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct asset walks of critical equipment to determine essential spare parts requirements
- Apply FMEA methodology to identify components with higher failure rates or extended lead times
- Plan, design, and manage improvement projects to increase reliability and productivity metrics
- Work with Engineering Manager to ensure alignment with corporate TPM vision and preventive maintenance methodology
- Incorporate Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, TPM) to drive change and generate cost savings
- Develop ROI business cases for potential improvements
- Participate in capital project processes to fund re-buildable spares
- Support MSHA inspections as required
- Establish and maintain a safe working environment
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a related engineering field (Reliability, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering preferred)
- 5 years of relevant engineering experience
- Experience with Oracle eAM or similar maintenance management software
- Proficiency with MS Office and statistical analysis tools like Minitab
- Strong understanding of Operations Excellence and Lean Manufacturing tools
- Experience with FMEA methodology and critical spares analysis
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Valid driver's license
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
Special Requirements
- Must complete MSHA (Mining specific) training prior to start (will be provided)
- Ability to start ASAP
