Laboratory Technician
An industry-leading environmental program supporting nuclear energy facilities is seeking an Entry-Level Laboratory Technician to join its onsite environmental monitoring team. This hybrid role combines light fieldwork, lab bench work, and administrative data entry, supporting environmental safety and compliance at regional nuclear facilities.
This is a fantastic opportunity for recent STEM graduates to launch their careers in environmental science or radiological monitoring. Past contractors in this role have advanced to supervisory positions within two years.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Drive to nearby sites to collect samples of air, water, milk, soil, and vegetation
- Exchange cartridges in samplers, draw milk samples from farm tanks, collect produce from monitored gardens
- Receive, log, and prepare samples for radiological analysis
- Blend or chop samples and load into Marinelli beakers for detector analysis
- Input data into the Information Management System (IMS)
- Help ensure regulatory compliance and environmental safety through accurate prep and recordkeeping
Who we're looking for:
- A recent graduate with a degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biology, or related STEM field
- Someone who enjoys both lab and fieldwork, and is eager to gain hands-on experience
- A detail-oriented individual who can manage basic lab tasks and data entry with accuracy
- Someone with solid computer literacy and a readiness to work in regulated environments
