Histology Technician (Healthcare Sciences)

Job Description

Title : Histology Technician

Shift : Monday-Friday, between 5am and 8am to 1pm and 4pm

Location : St. Newburgh, NY

Job responsibilities

Do they know how to cut, stain, embedding, IHC, cutting frozens- special skills.

Additional responsibilities of the Histology Technician include :

Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position

Demonstrates the ability to operate applicable office equipment

Exhibits the ability to deal effectively interdepartmentally & with the public

Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision

Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location

Demonstrates a general knowledge of histologic techniques, procedures, and safety precautions

Histology Technician (Healthcare Sciences)

Job Requirements

Successful candidates for Histology Technician role include :

AAS or BS / BA in laboratory science or equivalent experience.

Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.

Histology experience is desired, but not required; computer experience preferred.

Successful completion of Histology Technician training program or 1 year of recent histology experience required.

Proficiency in Microtomy required.

Licensure, Registration or certifications :

NYS Clinical Laboratory Technician or Technologist License or Limited Permit required.

HT(ASCP) desired but not required.

Histo certification
