Description
Under the direction and supervision of the VP of HR, the RN, Nurse Aide Training Program Instructor assists in organizing and teaching the nurse aide training program (NATP).
The RN, NATP Instructor may also be asked to assist with organization and implementation of new employees' orientation and clinical competency; continued clinical competency, general in-service, and staff development.
The RN, Nurse Aide Training Program Instructor must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served by his / her department-adolescent through geriatric. The RN, Nurse Aide Training Program Instructor must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span; possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status; interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to the populations served by the facilities.
The RN, Nurse Aide Training Program Instructor must be able to perform all functions of a registered nurse within the scope of practice as outlined by the regulatory agencies such as the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing and the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
The RN, Nurse Aide Training Program Instructor must be able to deliver nursing care according to the standards of care as outlined by the various associations such as Pennsylvania Nurses Association (PNA), and the American Nurses Association Standards of Clinical Practice.

EDUCATION :
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE :
Minimum of five (5) years satisfactory experience as an RN preferred.
Minimum of three (3) years experience in a long term care / management setting required.
Minimum of one (1) year nursing education experience required.
SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS :
Must be certified to teach the nurse aide training program (TTE) approved by the state.
Possession of a current license as a Registered Nurse as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Knowledgeable in Department of Health regulations.
Excellent organizational, administrative and analytical skills required.
Make continuous efforts to maintain a strong, current clinical knowledge-based skill level. Seeks appropriate continuing education to meet these goals.
Must be cleared according to the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
Strong Clinical leadership and management skills, good interpersonal and interdisciplinary relationships, and a high level of initiative and creative problem solving ability required.
CPR certification must be obtained and maintained.
Must maintain current knowledge of regulatory agency standards applicable to staff orientation, competency, and education. Comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory required.
