GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Nursing Home Administrator, the Environmental Services Director is responsible for providing direction, supervision, quality control, and training of staff within the Environmental Services Department for the campus. Manage and evaluate employee schedules to ensure proper staffing, implement various strategies to improve patient satisfaction, perform daily inspections, organize monthly staff meetings, prepare weekly employee work schedules, be a member of various facility committees (Infection Control, Life Safety). Oversee the exterior landscaping of the campus.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma required.
Minimum of five years EVS experience in a healthcare setting required.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of five (5) years EVS experience in a healthcare setting required.
Schedules and delegates staff work assignments.
Completes schedules, work lists and handles payroll timecard processing.
Routinely inspects the building and grounds to assure the cleanliness of the ASCC.
Trains and instructs Staff on proper work habits, methods and safety procedures. Maintains records of all necessary in-service training.
Assists in hiring, firing, promoting, disciplining, and performance appraisals of Staff.
Maintains departmental employee records.
Maintains the supply room and orders the necessary supplies.
Insure that all department equipment is maintained to manufacturer’s specifications and stored in a clean and safe manner.
Performs hands-on cleaning.
