Job Duties:
- Pulling, filling, packing, and setting up customer orders for delivery or pickup.
- Maintain the ability to determine the status of an order at any given time. Follow any special instructions pertaining to an individual order.
- Prepare truck for operation by packing and loading of trucks, securing of items, and verifying the accuracy of shipping papers.
- Deliver orders via the most effective route to ensure complete orders are delivered according to established time frames and customers’ needs.
- Maintain communication with company during deliveries to ensure any updated instructions are received.
- Document delivery, accuracy, and receipt of orders by the customer according to company directives and report any discrepancies to company.
- Increase customer satisfaction by collecting information, feedback on service and resolving complaints per company policy; communicate information back to company.
- Inform customers of new products and services that can increase customer satisfaction and sales.
- Maintain and monitor truck maintenance and driving record requirements, and maintain required documents for safety, security, and quality processes. Inspect truck tires, lights, brakes, fluids, etc. to ensure safe and cost-effective performance with preventive maintenance in mind.
- Assist in all Warehouse operations including shipping/receiving, returns, inventory, pulling customer orders, customer service, cleaning, stocking, etc.
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, two wheelers and other warehouse equipment as required.
- Maintain a safe driving record free of violations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Clear driving record.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a DOT medical certificate.
- Experience driving a 16 foot box tuck.
- Thorough knowledge of traffic laws and defensive driving.
- Exceptional customer service skills. Maintain a professional image and demeanor.
- Must be able to adapt to changing schedules and demands to ensure superior customer service. Ability to work independently.
- Ability to safely operate various vehicles.
- Ability to read a map and accurately plan a route.
- Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions. Lift/carry/maneuver heavy material or equipment (up to 75 lbs.).
- Ability to make independent judgments which have moderate impacts on the organization.
- Ability to work overtime if needed.
- Operate forklifts in compliance with Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) requirements.
- Ability to maintain physical effort throughout the shift including, standing, bending, lifting, stooping, and squatting. Stand/walk for duration of work hours.
