What are the responsibilities and job description for the Minister Press Operator position at Allied Tube and Conduit Corporation?
What you’ll do:
- Adherence to Atkore Safety / Life Saving Rules is paramount

- Work with non-reinforced and reinforced support
- Monitor the quality and take immediate corrective actions
- Meet or exceed basic production standards
- Actively and productively participate in team functions
- Communicate and report all Quality and Productivity non-conformance
- Maintain a strong customer focus
- Maintain all production logs and data as required
- Always maintain proper housekeeping
- Load and unload raw materials and finished products using fork trucks and other material handling devices
- Perform Die changes, preventive maintenance, and other tasks as assigned
- Strive for continuous improvement of all pressing processes
- Must be able to clearly communicate operational information regarding the equipment to co-workers and management in written form
- Standard work training, 5S, lean sustainment and problem solving
- All duties as instructed by supervision
What you’ll bring:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Three plus years of industrial experience in a manufacturing environment operating heavy machinery and equipment is preferred
- Ability to hear differences between normal and abnormal operation
- Experience and knowledge of Lean Daily Management principles preferred
- Ability to act quickly to stop the press when an abnormal operation occurs
- Visually differentiate between patterns of operation and distinguish various cosmetic flaws
- Ability to use basic precision measurement tools
- Documented evidence of prior forklift experience and ability to be Atkore certified
- Capable of wearing the required personal protective equipment while performing all tasks
- Ability to follow operational and safety instructions
- Be able to push and pull extremely heavy loads using leverage tools
- Work with tools and fasteners repetitively in narrow spaces and with sufficient force to repair, install, and remove equipment
- Read precision measurement tools for quality assurance and machine set-up
- Must be able to stand for long periods of up to twelve hours
- Must be able to scan the equipment and material visually and audibly for indication of improper or unsafe operation
- Clearly communicate operational information regarding the equipment to co-workers and management in written form
Within 3 months, you’ll:
- Complete required training
- Have developed relationships with the key stakeholders for this role
- Be well-versed in Atkore’s Business System and the importance of your role to daily operations
