Responsibilities:
- Start-up, shut down, and monitoring a continuous process.
- Maintain control of total plant operations utilizing distributive control systems (DCS), programmable logic controllers (PLC’s), and effective communication with field operators.
- Adjust process variables to achieve a safe and efficient operation.
- Communicate with Lab and analyze Lab/Instrument result to maintain safety and efficiency throughout the plant.
- Effectively communicate plant issues to plant management
- Coordinate the effective and efficient unloading of Raw Materials.
- Ability to Operate pH meter, Check for Chlorine Concentration as well as residual Alkalinity.
- Ability to read, understand and place into action SOP for all activities for the continuous operation of the plant.
- Continuous monitoring of NRE. Maintaining Maximum efficiency of reducing NRE/Brine Purge and additionally keeping NRE moving throughout the week.
Knowledge & Competency Requirements:
- Responsible attitude for personal safety and the safety of co-workers, contractors, and the public.
- Self-starter and ability to self- direct work.
- Knowledge of chemical plant process control, control systems, pumps, and motors.
- Willing to work overtime and adapt to flexible work schedules (shift work).
- Good troubleshooting skills for chemical plant processes and equipment.
- Basic understanding of lab analysis techniques.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good computer skills
- Team oriented, flexible and able to work with minimal supervision
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Three years chemical plant operating experience required. Chlor-alkali operating experience a plus
- Process Technician certificate required
