Job Description
Allied Universal is seeking Professional Security Guards in Canada.
Job Title: Security Guard – Municipal
Job Location: London, ON
Job Type: Part- Time, Possibility to shift to Full-time
Pay Rate: $ 18.97
Shifts: Rotational, weekends included (full availability is an asset)
Specific Duties Performed and Essential Functions
- Access control for the facility/area
- Present a polished, professional, customer friendly image at all times
- Ability to manage conflicts, incidents and to deescalate all/any situation that may arise
- Patrolling and following protocols as per the post orders, which may include indoor or outdoor patrols, manage the movement of guests at various points throughout the property etc.
- Patrols include nearby recreational park
- Ensure that the facility’s safety and emergency procedures are followed in response to fire alarms and other site Emergencies
- Shifts may vary from Days/Evenings/Overnights - flexible availability is an asset and must be able to work holidays and weekends
- Undertake site specific training, follow direction and guidance from Site Supervisor or Manager
- Demonstrate good judgment, common sense and decision-making ability, particularly when required to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other incidents
- Meticulous record keeping, report writing, observation skills excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Operate/monitor security room equipment, including CCTV Monitoring
- Perform dispatch and security duties
- Completion of site required training
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Be at least 18 years of age with high school diploma or equivalent
- Education in Security, Police Foundations or Equivalent is an asset
- Experience in security or equicalent is an
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Possess effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner
- Licensing requirements are subject to province and/or local laws and regulations and will be required prior to employment.
- As a condition of employment, employee must successfully complete a background check
- Display exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Have intermediate computer skills to operate innovative, wireless technology at client specific sites
- Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently
- Able to:
o Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow or heat
o Occasionally lift or carry up to 20 kilograms
o Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
o Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time
