About The Position
Job Title : Clinical Laboratory Scientist
Location : Crownpoint, NM 87313
Shift Timings : Mon - Fri 8a-6p
Start date : Jan 2025
Duration : 1 Year or Full time (options for 26 weeks contract)
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor of Science Degree or associate's degree in medical technology, or Clinical Laboratory Science or a primary science (i.e., Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, etc.)
Experience : must have a minimum of 2 years clinical laboratory experience as a generalist medical technologist
License : Medical Technologist or Medical Lab Scientist, or as a Clinical Lab Scientist by the appropriate agency (ASCP, AMT, AAB).
Certification : BLS
Responsibilities :
- Perform and interpret a variety of clinical laboratory tests in areas such as chemistry, microbiology, hematology, immunology, urinalysis, and blood banking, using both standardized and non-standardized procedures.
- Conduct blood draws (venipuncture and capillary puncture) and provide instruction to patients and staff on the correct collection and preservation of specimens.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring accuracy through regular calibration, preventive maintenance, and performance testing.
- Develop new test methods, establish quality control standards, and adapt laboratory procedures to meet clinical requirements.
- Maintain compliance with CNIS and TJC regulations, document test results, and prepare reports on findings while observing critical testing conditions.
