Job Responsibilities
- A member of the construction team reporting to Allison Offshore Supervisor.
- Works as directed by cutting pipe with a beveling machine.
- Measures and marks pipe for cutting and threading.
- Assemble or secure pipes, tubes, or related equipment, according to specifications, by welding,braxing,soldering or threading joints.
- Lay out full scale drawings of beams, angle irons and supports following isometric drawings.
- Cut, thread, or hammer pipes to specifications, using tools such as cutting torches.
Skills & Experience
- Prior offshore construction experience REQUIRED.
- Prior Structural Fabrication experience preferred.
- Must be able to draw isometric drawings.
- Must be able to read isometric drawings and work from them.
- Experience using safe work habits.
Candidates will be required to pass:
- Written Pipe Fitter Assessment
Physical Demands
- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb or balance, and will also frequently stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl; and walk on uneven surfaces.
- The employee must be able to swing on a swing rope to board offshore structures / vessels.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job. Including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be capable of hearing audio warning signals.
- The employee must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment, including hearing protection, safety glasses and steel toed boots.
- Position requires working long strenuous hours.
Must be able to successfully complete the required pre- placement physical exam, lift capacity evaluation, pre-employment drug and alcohol test and successfully enroll in DISA.
