Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Walker to join our team. This role is perfect for individuals who love animals and enjoy spending time outdoors. As a Dog Walker, you will be responsible for providing exercise, companionship, and care for dogs in the community. Your primary focus will be ensuring the safety and well-being of the dogs while fostering positive relationships with their owners. The hours for this position will primarily be 9 am to 12:30 pm depending on the day, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Walk dogs of various sizes and breeds, ensuring they receive adequate exercise and stimulation.
- Maintain control of dogs at all times, utilizing proper handling techniques.
- Provide basic care such as feeding, administering medication, and cleaning up after pets.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their dog's behavior and needs.
- Monitor the health and safety of each dog during walks, reporting any concerns to the owner.
- Handle multiple dogs at once while ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Maintain a professional demeanor while providing excellent customer service to pet owners.
Experience
Ideal candidates will possess experience in pet care or related fields. Skills that are beneficial for this role include:
- Pet sitting or dog walking experience.
- Background as a veterinary assistant or in animal handling.
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal restraint methods.
- Experience in kennel environments or similar settings.
- Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, such as carrying supplies or assisting larger dogs.
- Drivers License is Required.
